I attended the 10th annual B.I.R.T.H. Fair this last Saturday with Gabriela, it was informative AND fun!

Located in the United Way building on Waugh, the fair was brimming with vendors representing every facet of the birth and family community. At the beginning of the day we got to meet up with many familiar faces from Houston’s birth community as well as early childhood educators, caregivers, acupuncturists, organic food vendors, and wellness product distributors. Then things really heated up with expecting moms, and families from all over Houston checking out everyone’s booths! Some people we were meeting for the first time, and others were people who frequent The Motherhood Center.

Two educators from Post Oak Montessori were there, Deidre Lodrig and Sarah Moudry. They teach infant/parent Montessori here at TMC and are starting new classes all the time! For instance Deidre just began Toddler Parenting classes, and the two are going to be teaching a 2-part series on Nursery outfitting Montessori style! Also, we saw Angelique Geehan who leads our Baby Wearing Support Group one Saturday a month, representing the Houston Baby Wearers! Woot woot!

There were informative seminars, samples, demos and other learning tools abounding. We were able to inform all kinds of people about our myriad of services that span from pregnancy, through birth, and into parenting. Here at TMC we just love educating people! We are already looking forward to next year!
